Jacka$$!

Monday, one of my MQ trainees gets an email from a project BA asking if he's made any changes to production. There was an upload problem with a "beta" broker the previous Friday evening. The trainee had made changes the previous week but only to the QA environment.

It turned out to be a known problem where the mainframe userid is not usable. He fed this back to her. She replied that the userid was good. I saw red, but I was tied up in meetings for the rest of the afternoon. The next morning, I talk to senior BA on the production support side. She volunteers to look into it, and contacts the RACF admin who tells her that the userid doesn't exist.

When she shares this info with everyone, the project BA replies that she had found out the same thing through the Service Desk that morning (where she should have gone in the first place). Well, you could have admitted that we were right all along and saved us some work! No favours for her next time.
