2023 Cottage Trip
Sunday/Day One
-skipped church & went grocery shopping instead
-packed car; forgot bathing suit/DVDs/highlighters/address labels
-drove non-stop -> too stiff
-dog pooped on arrival
-chicken caesar salad for supper
-couldn't get dial-up to work
-friend having cataract surgery so maybe no lunch
Monday/Day Two
-dog woke me up at 4 a.m. to poop
-nice weather this a.m.
-dog threw me off routine: no coffee on front porch
-went to Dwight butcher's but no butcher on duty/poor selection
-talked to my son about weird DM: one of his co-workers died at the shop on the weekend
Tuesday/Day Three
-dog was waiting at back door at 8 a.m. to poop, she's got the heeby-geebies (too many jalapeno cheese nips?)
-saw a crane at the shore this a.m.
-deerflies bad on Shaw's Rd
-haven't been able to get dial-up working -> should have tested at home
-watched Cloud Atlas while it was raining which I didn't expect to enjoy but I did, should have been at least two different movies though
-made a banana kiwi pina colada while waiting for my steak to cook which I also enjoyed even though it was a funny shade of green
Wednesday/Day Four
-dog seems to have settled but cut both walks short
-used my garden peas in rice bowl w/leftover chicken
-haven't heard from my brother or old neighbour
-left my HR notebook at home so spent afternoon reading
-worked on Strawberry Social postmortem
Thursday/Day Five
-pouring rain & lightening this a.m.
-left yesterday's book out in the rain
-saw the biggest wild bird I've ever seen (12 ft wingspan?), looked & sounded like a pterodactyl
-went out with old neighbours for supper
-dog doesn't seem to know what to make of lake water-too wavy?
Friday/Day Six
-had a great lunch w/two public school chums
-drive home took almost 3 hrs due to supposed construction at Gravenhurst & accident at Dunlop
-dog had a plethora of beds to choose from
